The ongoing lawsuit involving Kanye West has taken another turn as his attorney, Brian Brumfield, claims that the rapper has not only terminated their working relationship but is also refusing to pay him or even communicate with him. This revelation comes as Brumfield filed a motion to be relieved from representing West in the legal battle against an autograph dealer who accused the hitmaker of assaulting him.
The original lawsuit, filed by Justin Poplawski and his wife Tiffany Marshall, accuses Kanye West of assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence in connection to an incident where Poplawski claims the rapper struck him outside a social club in downtown Los Angeles in January 2022. Poplawski, who asserts that he has previously obtained West’s autograph, alleges that the artist’s aggressive behavior was fueled by his contentious divorce from Kim Kardashian at the time.
Brian Brumfield’s motion to be released as West’s legal representation is set to be addressed at a hearing scheduled for July 29. The attorney asserts in court documents that West has refused to communicate with him and has failed to fulfill his financial obligations towards legal representation.
