With a whopping $1.2 billion grossed worldwide, the studio’s films have taken the box office by storm. Legendary’s Dune: Part Two and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire have been the major contributors to this success, with Dune surpassing $700 million and Godzilla x Kong exceeding $500 million.
Dune: Part Two, directed by Denis Villeneuve, has emerged as the highest-grossing movie of the year, leaving behind its predecessor’s global gross of $407.5 million. The recent re-release of Dune: Part Two in Imax theaters has further boosted its revenue, coinciding with the release of Amazon MGM Studios’ Challengers, which Warner Bros is handling overseas. On the other hand, Godzilla x Kong is inching closer to surpassing the global gross of Godzilla, standing less than $25 million away from the title.

Breaking down the numbers, Dune: Part Two has garnered $422.3 million overseas and $278.3 million domestically, while Godzilla x Kong boasts $324.2 million internationally and $176.2 million domestically. These figures culminate in a combined global total of $504.0 million for Godzilla x Kong. The film’s dominance in international markets, including key regions like Brazil, Indonesia, and Mexico, further underscores its popularity. Warner Bros’ strategic distribution partnerships with Legendary East and TOHO have been instrumental in expanding the films’ reach in key markets like China and Japan.
With a cumulative global gross of $1.71 billion since the beginning of 2024, Warner Bros has solidified its position as a leader in the major studio market share.
