However, after a meeting between IATSE leadership and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, an agreement was reached just in time for the ceremony to proceed. The event took place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, with the stage set to honor daytime dramas, talk shows, and legal/courtroom dramas.
Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner took on the role of hosts for the evening. The ceremony began with a corny yet cute opening number performed by The Talk hosts Amanda Kloots and Jerry O’Connell. The hosts then went on to acknowledge special guests in the audience, including the legendary Dick Van Dyke, who later won an award for his guest-starring role on Peacock’s Days of our Lives. Zooey Deschanel and Jennifer Hudson were also among those recognized during the live show.
The highlight of the evening came with Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to soap producer Ed Scott and Melody Thomas Scott from The Young and the Restless. In her acceptance speech, Thomas Scott expressed her appreciation for the hard work put in by everyone in the industry.
