Following the Presidential Debate between President Biden and former President Trump, Jon Stewart did not hold back his disappointment. He expressed his disbelief that what had transpired during the debate was real life. Stewart went as far as to claim that both candidates should resort to using performance-enhancing drugs to improve their lucidity, problem-solving abilities, and in Trump’s case, truthfulness, morality, and malignant narcissism.
Stewart highlighted Biden’s struggles during the debate, pointing out instances where he stuttered and stumbled through dense policy discussions. The comedian sarcastically remarked that Biden’s Medicare flub was causing Democrats across the country to either contemplate drastic actions or quietly suffer in disbelief.
Contrastingly, Stewart acknowledged Trump’s ability to articulate lies more coherently than Biden. Despite Trump’s false claims, such as denying an affair with Stormy Daniels by downplaying her career as a “porn character actor at best,” Stewart couldn’t help but question the validity of such deceptive tactics.
Biden’s Lackluster Performance
Stewart also touched on Biden’s overall lackluster performance during the debate, equating his demeanor to that of someone with a “resting 25th amendment face.” He humorously suggested that Biden might not be at the top of his game and pondered whether Trump, despite his controversial persona, could offer a more compelling alternative.
Jon Stewart’s scathing remarks and witty observations regarding the Presidential Debate shed light on the chaotic nature of political discourse. Through his critical lens, Stewart highlighted the flaws and shortcomings of both candidates, leaving viewers with a mixed bag of humor and introspection. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how future debates will fare under the scrutiny of sharp-tongued commentators like Jon Stewart.
