Recently, Joy Behar and Chris Rock were seen at a high-profile fundraising event in the Hamptons, hosted by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. The event, which featured tickets priced up to $150,000, took place at the lavish Southampton home of tech power couple Stuart Butterfield and Jen Rubio. While presidential candidate Kamala Harris did not attend, Walz reportedly charmed the crowd with his presence. The afternoon was filled with entertainment provided by Mumford & Sons and a menu featuring chicken sandwiches and lobster rolls. According to an attendee, the atmosphere was described as having “high, positive energy.”

The upbeat atmosphere at the recent fundraising event stands in stark contrast to a previous political appearance by President Joe Biden in the Hamptons. Following a disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump, Biden’s campaign was facing turmoil. His appearance in the Hamptons was likened to a “Band-Aid on a bullet wound” by some Democratic insiders. Tickets for Biden’s event ranged from $6,600 to $150,000, and despite the high price tags, they were completely sold out.

Despite the affluent crowd at the fundraiser, Gov. Tim Walz was reportedly down-to-earth and approachable. Described as “humble and a genuine dude” by a source, Walz made a positive impression on attendees. His friendly demeanor and likability set him apart from other politicians who have visited the area.

While Kamala Harris did not attend the recent event due to the end of the summer season, her husband, Doug Emhoff, is scheduled to appear at upcoming fundraisers in the Hamptons. Additionally, a larger fundraiser in NYC is being planned for Harris this fall. Attendees can look forward to seeing Emhoff alongside Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo at an event on Aug. 31, as indicated by a DNC invite obtained by Page Six.

The Hamptons continue to be a hotspot for political fundraising and celebrity sightings. With high-profile events attracting notable figures from the entertainment industry and political sphere, the area remains a hub of activity during both the summer season and beyond.
