The Hamptons is once again facing a traffic nightmare as Donald Trump makes his way out East to fundraise. The event is being cohosted by Cantor Fitzgerald bigwig Howard Lutnick, Farvahar Partners CEO Omeed Malik, and Trump mega donor, billionaire hedge funder John Paulson.
Tickets for the Bridgehampton event are ranging from $25,000 per person to $500,000 for a couple to host. In addition, those willing to pay $50,000 to $75,000 can get a photo opportunity with Trump. The event has caused major road closures in various parts of the Hamptons which will affect Westhampton Beach, Hampton Bays, Southampton, Shinnecock Hills, North Sea, Water Mill, and Bridgehampton.
This is not the first time a president or presidential candidate has caused chaos in the Hamptons due to fundraising events. President Biden was in the Hamptons in June for a fundraiser at the home of billionaire Barry Rosenstein, where locals also complained about traffic back-ups. Biden’s motorcade was blamed for adding over 45 minutes to travel time, causing frustration among residents.
