The show follows the interconnected lives of six individuals who are affected by the incident. Drawing inspiration from a study by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, which highlights the lasting impact of such accidents on an average of 113 people, the series aims to explore the emotional and psychological effects on those involved. ‘Hundertdreizehn’ takes viewers on two distinct narrative paths, one focusing on the investigative efforts to uncover the cause of the accident and the other tracing the experiences of the victim’s family members. Each episode centers around a different character directly impacted by the tragedy, presenting a unique perspective on the unfolding events. Award-winning director Rick Ostermann and screenwriter Arndt Stüw lead the creative team behind the series, currently in production in Vienna with plans for a fall 2025 premiere. Production is a collaboration between Moritz Polter’s Windlight Pictures, Satel Film, WDR, ARD, and ORF, with a diverse group of executives and producers overseeing the project.
