The highly anticipated third installment in the Knives Out series has been officially titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” This revelation came directly from director Rian Johnson via his social media channels. Johnson had previously expressed his desire to change the subtitle of the films to “A Benoit Blanc Mystery,” but it appears that the franchise has not yet achieved the level of recognition needed for this moniker to be suitable.
Daniel Craig will return to reprise his role as the enigmatic detective Benoit Blanc in Knives Out 3. Joining him in the cast are Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, and Andrew Scott. Known for his star-studded ensembles in his previous films, Johnson has also announced that more casting announcements can be expected in the near future. Notably, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, and Glenn Close have already been confirmed as part of the cast.
The previous films in the series, “Knives Out” and “Glass Onion,” featured an impressive lineup of actors. “Glass Onion” included Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Edward Norton, and Kate Hudson, among others, with special cameos from Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant, and Serena Williams. Meanwhile, “Knives Out” starred Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Jamie Lee Curtis, to name a few. The inclusion of such high-caliber talent has been a hallmark of Johnson’s directorial style.
